Oh Lord, we have brought reproach to Your name. We have despised Your council and brought you great shame. You've shown us the pathway in which we should go. But we've followed a highway of our own.
Oh Jerusalem, Oh Jerusalem. How I have wanted to hold you. Oh Jerusalem, Oh Jerusalem, but you would not, but you would not.
Oh Lord, we have not done the right as we should. We have called good things evil and evil things good. We've cried peace and safety in spiritual things, when Your word shows destruction come on angels wings.
Oh Ephriam, Oh Ephriam. How can I give you up? Oh Ephriam, Oh Ephraim. But you would not, but you would not.
Turn you, I beg of you, from your ways. I take no pleasure in harm. Do as I ask of you, cling child to me, and I'll hold you up with my strong arms.
Oh Jerusalem, Oh Jerusalem, How I have wanted to hold you. Oh Jerusalem, Oh Jerusalem, will you not? Will you not?
Will you not? Will you not?
